Managing Your Pain On Top Of Foot – What To Do?

Foot, the very structure of the human body that withholds the full weight of the body is subjected to stress throughout the day especially for mechanical workers. Mechanical workers use their physical strength to move objects out of which 90% of strength is supplied by the foot. Now as per Newton’s third law of motion every action has an equal and opposite reaction. So if the foot is supplying most of the strength then it is being reacted by other forces and this the reason why foot has to be given special care.

The vital part of a foot is the integrated part of the muscle where 126 ligaments and nerves are intertwined. An injury to this area can cause pain on top of the foot. Usually the pain is felt around the second toe of the foot. Runners and athletes are constantly affected by this type of pain which is excruciating in nature. The cause of this injury can be due to the fracture of the above mentioned muscle commonly know as tendonitis of the metatarsal tendon.

This condition is exaggerated when athletes or heavy duty workers try to neglect the pain and continue to carry on with their training or work. A pain in the heel or pain in the shin should never be ignored as the exaggerated condition of this can also lead to tendonitis. Ganglions are found to appear on the part where a muscle tear has been experienced.

This condition can be resolved by an expert orthopedic. Their advice is that athletes or mechanical workers and those who use their legs for most of the time should wear high quality shoes that will absorb the shock effects and avoid forming pain on top of the foot. Old shoes should be discarded as they do not have the ability to absorb the shock. Although it is believed that an old shoe does absorb a high amount of shock while the truth is that it does absorb the shock but in a non uniform manner leading to more injury.

Another advice by doctors is to cut on the size of the heels. More the size of the heel more uneven pressure is applied on your foot and greater the possibility of hurting the ankle. And as far as exercise is concerned a simple stretch daily will suffice for a healthy foot.

Remedies are many for pain on top of the foot. The cold and hot water therapy is the best and the cheapest which warms and relaxes your muscles. Another remedy is to massage the affected part with an ointment so that the muscle that has been fractured or affected is relaxed and allowed to heal.

It is reported that the application of ointment causes a burning sensation in most of the patients but if used on a regular basis the burning sensation will subside with time and the user will get used to it. And it is always better to consult a doctor before you prescribe any medicine for yourself.

What physical symptoms of anxiety do you have?

I have had severe anxiety for years and just now learned that there are physical symptoms and the body does some crazy and debilitating things under stress bc I realize some physical things I sufferfeo might be from stress I am finally going to seek help but was wondering how others suffer physically…?

Whenever I suffer from anxiety the following physical manifestations happen:

- Increased heart rate
- Flushing
- Stomach pain / bloating
- Dizziness
- Tiredness
- Increased perspiration

These symptoms are present for a variety of reasons. When you are stressed your body thinks it is in danger (like, for example, a lion is chasing you and wants to kill you). In response, your body increases the levels of certain neurotransmitters (such as norepinephrine and serotonin) and hormones (such as cortisol). Norepinephrine raises the heart rate and blood pressure, and serotonin slows down digestion (since the last thing your body needs to worry about when it is in danger is digestion). The effects of these neurotransmitters cause some of the physical manifestations I mentioned above, and it is all due to Mental Stress and the way your sympathetic nervous system deals with it. Your parasympathetic nervous system will kick in eventually and calm the body down, slowing heart rate and blood pressure and putting digestion back in sync.
